COURSE OVERVIEW:
The course provides necessary knowledge, understanding and proficiency to personnel intending to work on ships who will not have any designated security duties.
This half day course is based on Regulation VI/6, paragraph 1 and Section A-VI/6, paragraphs 4 of the STCW Convention and Code 1978, as amended and is delivered alongside the basic safety training for seafarers.
This course is NOW part of the mandatory basic safety training courses, which include: Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting, Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities, Personal Survival Techniques, and Elementary First Aid courses.
This MCA approved STCW'95 course includes:
- 0.5 day of training from an experienced Instructor;
- All training aids, equipment and hand-outs;
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
All seafarers employed or engaged in any capacity on ships or any other vessel to which the ISPS code applies who require a Proficiency in Security Awareness (PSA) certificate, will need to attend this four hour stand-alone course.
VENUE:
This course is held at our training facility in Whitby, North Yorkshire. The facility includes a modern, fully equipped training room with comprehensive training equipment.
An STCW'95 approved certificate (MCA) Proficiency in Security Awareness will be issued upon successful completion of the course.
