Approved Engine Course 1 (AEC 1) provides foundational theoretical and practical knowledge of diesel engines and systems. Designed to meet the MCA Codes of Practice for large commercial sailing and motor vessels, small commercial motor vessels, and small workboats, this course focuses on engineering competencies required for safe vessel operation. It equips students with the skills to perform regular servicing and detect potential faults before they escalate. This course is ideal for aspiring yacht engineers on small vessels and a good additional qualification for those aiming at a deckhand position onboard.
