Course description
The course is designed to provide you with knowledge and skills in managing crowds. This covers the mandatory competencies and the required knowledge, understanding, and proficiencies specified in paragraph 3 of section A-V/2 and table A-V/2-1 of the STCW Code.

Course objectives
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- demonstrate the ability to organize shipboard emergency procedures;
- control responses to emergencies;
- control passengers and other personnel during emergency situations;
- establish and maintain effective communications;
- understand the importance and purpose of mustering procedures and assistance to passengers in emergency situations;
- identify and locate the life-saving appliances and control plans on your ship and know how to use them properly;
- follow the muster lists and emergency instructions and perform your assigned duties effectively.

This course is based on the following regulations and guidelines:
- IMO model course 1.41 - Passenger Ship Crowd Management Training.
- STCW Regulation V/2, paragraphs 6 & 7 and sections A-V/2.2, A-V/2.3
Entry requirements
This course is suitable for anyone who works on board a passenger ship and has responsibility for the safety of passengers in emergency situations.
