What is Accredited Engine Course?

Transport Malta Accredited Engine Course = TM AEC

The Maltese flag state's Accredited Engine Course is an entry-level qualification for working on commercial yachts. It is considered the first step in the career ladder for those seeking a job in the deck or engineering department on a superyacht or smaller yacht. It is an official minimum manning requirement for most of the major Flag State Yacht Codes and is ideal for those wishing to start careers within the Engine or Deck department of Superyachts or other small yachts as well.

AEC training and certification is Transport Malta (TM) approved and fully recognized by the other Flag States.

TM AEC is a total eight-day course. It provides practical hands-on training and theoretical knowledge about diesel engines and related systems to enable you to work as a mechanic or dual duty deckhand / engine rating on a superyacht (24 meters and above). It also helps you increase your employee value.
