The 15 day Superyacht Career Training Program is conducted at Galileo Maritime Academy. Located in a purpose built campus at Phuket Yacht Haven Marina in Thailand Galileo Maritime Academy has been training Superyacht crew and other professional seafarers since 2014.

This program is designed to provide graduates with everything they need to stand out from the crowd when interviewing for their first role on board, the program covers multiple proficiencies as a Deckhand, Steward/Stewardess, and Engineer. Crew members with certificated training that allows them to multi-task on board are in high demand, and often improve their chances for swift promotion.

With invaluable career guidance also provided by our experienced team of instructors, this is our most popular course and has been the platform off which most of our crew graduates careers have been launched.

U.K. MCA Approved STCW Courses are an acceptance of maritime training quality and certification worldwide. Galileo Maritime Academy is the only MCA accredited facility in the Asia Pacific region approved to provide Certificates of Proficiency for 20 STCW courses.

This Superyacht Career Training Program includes a 20% Discount applied to the total cost of courses if booked seperately.

The course comprises of the mandatory 5 day U.K. MCA Approved Basic safety and security STCW 2010 courses along with the Galileo Powerboat, Tender and Ribmaster and Food Hygiene Level 2 (FHL2) Certification; PLUS the 5 Day Deckhand Course, PLUS your choice of either, Steward/Stewardess Certificate of Proficiency OR MCA Approved Engine Course Level 1 (AEC1)

Qualifications upon completion of course

• Superyacht Deckhand Certificate and either Interior Skills Certificate or MCA Approved Engine Course (AEC 1) Certificate
• Proficiency in Powerboat, Tender and Ribmaster certificate
• Food & Hygiene Level 2 certificate
• U.K. MCA Approved STCW Basic Safety Training including: -
• MCA proficiency in Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting
• MCA proficiency in Personal Survival Techniques
• MCA proficiency in Elementary First Aid
• MCA proficiency in Personal Safety & Social Responsibility
• MCA proficiency in Security Awareness

Entry Requirements

Candidates must have a valid ENG 1, or an equivalent
Note. ENG 1 is not available in Thailand. We are able to provide details of where to obtain a Norwegian Seafarers Medical in Bangkok, which is an acceptable equivalent.
