Overview

Our client, who owns a private estate on the Isle of Islay, seeks a dedicated and experienced Housekeeper to join their friendly and professional household team.

This is a varied and hands-on role involving the care of multiple properties, including five self-catering holiday lets and the Main House, which is predominantly used by the Estate owners.

This is a full-time, permanent position offering a unique lifestyle opportunity in a beautiful island setting. The successful applicant will be provided with a cottage and car on the estate.

Job duties
Responsibilities of the Head Housekeeper in Isle of Islay, include:

• Daily housekeeping of the Main House when occupied by the owners
• Split-shift work including morning cleaning and evening dinner service assistance
• Changeover cleaning and presentation of all self-catering holiday properties
• General upkeep and light maintenance across a range of Estate buildings
• Ensuring high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest experience across all properties

Candidates must be/have:

• Previous experience in Housekeeping and front-of-house roles
• Good leadership skills
• Excellent attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Silver service training is advantageous, but full training will be provided
• A positive attitude and flexible approach to working hours

Accommodation
A cottage on the estate will be provided.

Hours
Full-time position with split shifts when the Main House is occupied (typically mornings and evenings). Some weekend and holiday work will be required, depending on guest bookings.

Isle of Islay – an iconic and picturesque location off the west coast of Scotland, known for its distilleries, wildlife, and close-knit community.

Salary
£30,000 + cottage provided.
