Seasonal Chief Engineer opportunity aboard 55 m+ Private M/Y – Pacific Cruising 

This is an exceptional opportunity for a Chief Engineer to join for cruising the South Pacific Islands and NE Australia!

Priority will be given to candidates who are currently in Australia/New Zealand

Start Date: Beginning of May  – for approximately 3 months (with potential to become permanent)

Itinerary: N/E Queensland – South Pacific Islands

Package: Competitive Salary paid in AUD, inclusive of leave

ONLY Australian Citizens or those with the legal rights to work in Australia will be eligible

Experience/Skills required:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as Chief on a similar sized yacht
• Excellent trouble shooting and fault finding skills essential
• Experience with Caterpillar Engines would be advantageous
• Must be a hands on and proactive engineer who is knowledgeable in all engineering and maintenance duties aboard
• Possess the ability to delegate to a 2nd Engineer with a diplomatic and motivational approach
• Professional appearance

Qualifications required:

• STCW Y2 III/2 CoC – OR AMSA Engineer Class 3
• STCW (fully updated) with PDSD
• Seafarer’s Medical Certificate (with min 6 months’ validity)
