Live-out Housekeeper for Private Household | Mayfair, London

Overview

Our client is seeking a Live-out Housekeeper with a background in yachting to join their private household in Mayfair.

This full-time, live-out position offers a unique opportunity to work as the sole Housekeeper for most of the time whilst also working with a larger team when the family is in residence.

It provides an exceptional chance to gain experience in one of London’s premier households, with the added benefit of receiving Butler training and progressing toward the role of Assistant House Manager.

Job duties

Responsibilities of the Live-out Housekeeper in Mayfair include:

• Sole housekeeping duties when the family is not in residence, including cleaning and inventory management (no laundry required).
• Maintain the main residence, a six-floor house featuring five bedrooms and five bathrooms, and a muse house, which includes five bedrooms and two bathrooms.
• Prepare for the family's arrival, coordinating with a full team of staff, including five housekeepers, a chef, a ladies' maid, and a laundress.
• When the family is in residence, work closely with a team during busier periods, providing exceptional service, with longer shifts and flexibility.
• Lead service during the family's stay, supported by a trained PA/Butler, focusing on delivering high-quality service with reduced housekeeping duties during this time.

Candidates must be/have:

• A strong background in service, preferably with experience in a yacht environment
• Right to work in UK or UK Passport
• English-speaking is essential; French is a bonus
• A proactive and adaptable attitude with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service

Hours

When the family is not in residence: 40 hours per week, typically five days of eight-hour shifts or four days of ten-hour shifts
During family visits, including six weeks in summer, three weeks at Christmas, and potentially two weeks in April and October, the hours will be longer over six days per week / adapting to a shift pattern

Salary

Up to £48,000, depending on experience.
