About the Villa

The domaine based in Ramatuelle.

The property is surrounded by majestic Mediterranean gardens, with olive & cork trees, mimosa trees, cypresses bushes & large choice of plants. There are hedges of lavender & rosemary, and a very special rose garden that blooms in spring.

The garden are quite large with expansive terraces that form a part of the wilderness, extending all the way down the hill to the sea and private beach. 

The project

We are looking for 1 Gardener ready to start working As Soon As Possible(ASAP), under a permanent contract. 

You will be working with the Head Gardener who is already on the property. The two of you would be in-charge of the Gardening and Handyman related duties.

Essentially, you will be in charge of maintaining the gardens, and all the exteriors. 

You will have all the necessary tools to do so - electrical and manual tools. The gardens are quite large, approx. 4 - 5 hectares. 

Gardening Duties:

  • Maintenance of the expansive lawn grounds spanning 5000 sqm 
  • Always monitoring the general state of the gardens & landscape in terms of the weeding, trimming, etc. and guaranteeing the high standards
  • Regular inspection & maintenance of the electric fence surrounding the property, looking out for damages to the fence if any
  • Ensuring proper gardening processes/methods and safety practices
  • Performing regular clearance of the vegetation that grows within a 50-meter perimeter for fire safety
  • Assisting in maintaining indoor and outdoor pools when the Head Gardener is absent
  • Setting up and organising the sunbeds and outdoor furniture as per client’s preferences
  • Looking after the animals on the property whenever required
  • Maintaining the terraced paths & landscapes leading to the beach
  • Analysing the need for new equipment, defining supply needs, purchasing management, supplier invoices, etc.
  • Clearance of fallen dried leaves and general tidiness of all exterior. terraces
  • Maintenance of the equipment on property (carts, lawnmower, hedge trimmers, etc)
  • Keeping up the image and historical significance of the property/gardens, given their rich history

Handyman Duties:

  • You will be in charge of minor technical repairs from time to time - small plumbing issues, electricity issues, paint, etc.
  • Bring the bins out and clean the bins
  • Ensuring that the family’s vehicles are always clean and ready to go
  • Checking the automatic watering system, looking over the garden and pool, and in case of issues, warning the contractors in case of big repairs. For small repairs, such as repairing a leak, you will be in charge.
  • Understanding well how the swimming pool, Jacuzzi and electrical systems function

This is not an exhaustive list of duties, candidates are expected to be flexible in terms of responsibilities, and help any other members of the Staffing team when needed.

Desired profile 

  • You must be very autonomous and able to report and respect your hierarchy at the same time. 
  • You must be an experienced gardener with similar previous experiences in Villas
  • With a professional background in landscaping and gardening, you have at least 10 years of experience in a similar environment as a manager.
  • You have excellent knowledge of gardening, green spaces, and plants (species, flowering periods, ...), their development and maintenance.
  • We are looking for someone who is passionate about gardening and likes to work in private villas. 
  • You are comfortable in handiwork, and in do-it yourself(DIY) projects.
  • You are able to multi-task and be flexible, able to follow the processes that are already implemented, and able to be reactive when facing something unusual. If someone in the team needs help, you need to be hands on. The team is very close, and everybody, even the Villa Manager work hand-in-hand. 
  • You are a smiling person, you like to work in a team and you are discreet. You have a positive attitude. 
  • You are always on time and present well, you have a real sense of human relations and communication comes with an ease to you. 
  • You MUST be fluent in French and English
  • You MUST have a personal car and a driving license as THERE ARE NO PUBLIC TRANSPORTS DESERVING THE VILLA. 

Salary : 2500 euros net / month 

French CDI contract.

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht.

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the following languages is required: English, French

Certificates and Qualifications:

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
