Due to company expansion, I am currently working with an established Ship Management Company searching for a Technical Manager to join their Superyacht Management department in Hamburg. 
  
Reporting to the Fleet Manager, you will be responsible overseeing the operational support for the technical aspects of the yacht fleet.

Duties will include:

  • Acting as the primary contact point for the vessel, linking Crew, Operations team, and suppliers.
  • Managing technical aspects for a fleet of vessels (private and commercial) as a Technical Superintendent.
  • Planned maintenance oversight.
  • Spare parts, inventory, and procurement management.
  • Budget supervision.
  • Supplier selection, negotiation, and coordination.
  • Managing Class & Flag technical requirements.
  • Coordinating regular dry docks.
  • Optimizing technical operation costs.
  • Enhancing systems, processes, contractors, and innovation.
  • Participation in Emergency Response Team as needed.
  • Supervising New Build Project Management.
  • Providing technical consultancy.
  • Assisting with other tasks as needed.
The ideal candidate:
  • Sea-faring experience, ideally as Chief Engineer (Yachts, Cruise or Commercial Vessels).
  • Chief Engineer Unlimited CoC is desirable. 
  • Some land-based experience within a maritime role. 
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to handle stress in multicultural environments.
  • Understanding of ISM/ISPS, SOLAS, and industry regulations.
  • Proficiency in budgeting and financial reporting for technical matters.
  • Fluent in English, other languages a bonus.
  • Self-disciplined and client-focused.

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht or a Cruise Ship.

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications:

All applicants must hold a valid ENG1 certificate to be able to apply for this position.

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
