Housekeeper

My client is seeking a reliable and flexible Housekeeper/Property Manager for their 6-bedroom townhouse on four floors in Chelsea, London. This is a live-in position, with the principals being a couple who will only be in the property around 10 days per month, starting in January.

Your role will involve a variety of duties to ensure the property runs smoothly and is maintained to a high standard, with a focus on cleaning, maintenance, shopping, and general housekeeping.

Your experience:

• Experience in private household staff roles (yachting background not required)
• Comfortable with the maintenance of a property, including cleaning, ironing, and pantry stocking
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Experience in managing day-to-day household operations
• Comfortable with dogs (two dogs are present on the property)
• Previous live-in experience would be beneficial, but not essential

Key responsibilities:

• General housekeeping, including cleaning and ironing
• Shopping and maintaining pantry cupboards
• Overseeing maintenance and repairs around the house
• Assisting with the principals’ needs when they are in residence 
• Ensuring the home is always presentable and well-maintained
• Looking after the two dogs (must be comfortable with pets)
• Preparing and maintaining the separate staff kitchen and quarters
• Working closely with the principals and their team to ensure smooth running of the property

Additional information:

• The property is not particularly busy and doesn’t require hosting parties
• Staff has a separate space which includes a bedroom, with an ensuite and a kitchen space
• The position is Monday to Friday, with flexibility available on days worked
• No prior yachting experience required, just a good background in private household service
