Relief Captain – Private 50m Explorer M/Y


The successful candidate will join the yacht in the Caribbean, with the possibility of travel during the relief period.

Start: Around Mid-January – end of February 2025. TBC
Location: Caribbean
Package: Competitive salary for a 6-week contract

 

Skills and Attributes Required:

 

  • Demonstrated experience as Captain or Relief Captain on similar-sized vessels.
  • Ability to maintain clear and consistent communication with the yacht’s owner, management, and crew.
  • Expertise in safely navigating and operating the vessel with precision and professionalism.
  • Strong leadership in managing the crew, fostering seamless teamwork, and delivering exceptional service to guests.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ISM and ISPS procedures, ensuring full compliance with maritime regulations.
  • Proficiency in overseeing the yacht’s systems and maintenance to uphold operational standards.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to challenges.

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Master 3000 license
  • SSO/GMDSS/ECDIS/Medical Care/AFF certifications
  • Seafarer’s Medical Certificate (ENG1)
  • STCW (fully updated) with PDSD

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht or a Cruise Ship.

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications:

All applicants must hold a valid ENG1 certificate to be able to apply for this position.

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
