Broadreach is an IYT (International Yacht Training) partner school and offers courses from their curriculum.
Skippers sail a yacht and teach basic sailing skills as they guide middle or high school students on an adventure through the Caribbean. Skippers are paired with another instructor and supervise students 24/7, facilitate group dynamics, assist students with cooking and cleaning duties, support scuba training and other program activities. - Working as part of a team to prepare and provision yachts for program.
- Actively managing and recording yacht maintenance and repairs.
- Working with the scuba instructors to support the daily diving operations.
Qualifications:

- Understanding of basic yacht and diesel engine maintenance.
- Experience in multi-day sailing trips/deliveries/chartering.
- Previous experience working with teens and young adults preferred, especially in a summer camp/ 24/7 setting.
- Able to participate in outdoor adventure activities such as hiking, snorkeling and community service activities.
- Great communication skills and a professional demeanor to serve as a Broadreach ambassador.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, able to work without direct supervision and adaptable to often changing, dynamic environments.
- Must be able to attend staff training in St. Martin in early June.
- Availability from late May to late August is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching sailing to youth is preferred.
- Comfortable living and working in a group environment with more rustic living conditions. E.g. camp, hostel, liveaboard boat.
- Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification or higher is preferred.
