Overview
A private individual is seeking a compassionate, professional Live-in Private Nurse/Caregiver to provide additional support at both their country estate and London townhouse. The ideal candidate should be well-presented, articulate, and have extensive experience providing high-level care to elderly individuals.
Working as part of a large, diverse private household team, the caregiver will focus primarily on providing daily care for the Principal. Reporting to the Estate Manager and Global Director, the role also involves coordinating between external medical advisors and the extended family. Strong communication and teamwork skills are crucial for the position.
The successful candidate will receive a highly competitive salary of up to £95,000, along with performance-related incentives.
Job duties
Responsibilities of the Live-in Private Nurse/Caregiver for private individual include:
- Provide companionship and general care for the Principal
- Administer bedside and personal care, including assistance with bathing, personal hygiene, dressing, and undressing
- Perform routine health-related tasks such as non-sterile dressing changes, medication assistance, and specimen collection under medical guidance
- Light housekeeping and service duties
- Administer and manage medications
- Accompany the Principal to medical appointments and social engagements
- Run errands and manage tasks as required
- Work alongside the household team, including housekeepers, chefs, butlers, drivers, and administrative staff
- Assist the Principal with mobile phone use, including making calls and sending texts/emails
- Provide wake-up calls as needed
- Manage the medication inventory, ensuring accurate records
- Travel with the Principal by car, plane, or helicopter as required
- Conduct medical tests (e.g., blood pressure, blood oxygen levels, temperature) under medical direction
- Update medication inventory based on doctor instructions
- Provide night care when necessary
- Attend regular meetings with healthcare professionals
- Some international travel may be required, but it will be minimal
Candidates must be/have:
- Previous experience in elderly care, in particular dementia, with a strong understanding of medical needs
- A nursing qualification or have relevant healthcare training
- Trustworthy, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality
- Flexibility in adapting to the Principal’s changing needs
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- The right to work in the UK
Accommodation
Live-in accommodation will be provided, including meals, at both the country estate and London townhouse. The caregiver will have their own private quarters.
Hours
The role includes both daytime duties and overnight care, with hours structured to allow for breaks and days off.
The position will be shared with another caregiver to ensure suitable rest periods. Specific details regarding hours will be discussed during the interview process.
Location
The caregiver will be based at the Principal’s country estate and London townhouse, with some international travel as needed.
Salary
Up to £95,000.
