About the project
We are looking for a Yacht Account Manager to join a company specialized in Yacht Management and Yacht Brokerage in its Accounting/Yacht Management department. This is a permanent position, starting soon enough, based on the pace of the recruitment process of course.
We are looking for a Yacht Management Accounting Manager for Monaco, one for Fort Lauderdale in Florida, USA and one for Croatia.
The primary administrative aspect of this Yacht Accounting Manager position is providing efficient and effective service in regards to the Accounting & Reporting of financials to the boat in question & its owner.
As the Yacht Accounting Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for the boat owners for the accounting & financial functions.
You would be primarily handling three distinct areas of Accounting/Finances:
- Financial Reports & Budget Management:
- Preparing the timely budgets (Annual/Quarterly/Monthly) for every boat by working hand in hand with the Captain & the Yacht Managers, at the owner’s demand as requested by the owner
- Utilizing accurately visual tools such as charts/graphs to represent the budget in a concise manner
- Ensuring the timely delivery of the budget & reports on a weekly/monthly basis as requested
- Creating the Annual, Quarterly & Monthly financial reports for the clients and their representatives
- Offering the Variance Analysis projection for the budget, in communication with the Boat Captain and/or the Yacht Manager
- Communicating with the Boat Owners and presenting them with funding requests derived from budget projections and cash balance
2. Accounts Payable:
- Making sure that the standards/levels for expenditure approval are agreed upon & established by the boat owners and are well communicated to Captain & the yacht crew on board
- Monitoring and processing the payable invoices for the boat in question in compliance to the company’s approval protocols.
- Involved in assisting & training the boat captain and crew in the company’s accounting/financial procedures wherever relevant
- Managing the debit/credit cards used by the yacht captain & crew, in addition to the petty cash, which might often be in multiple currencies
- Establishing a perfect understanding and application of the financial and taxable requirements for each boat, based on the flag state of the boat, registration documents and the location of the vessel
3. Payroll Management & Crew Administration duties:
Monitoring & Processing the payroll of involved parties clearing the finding/payments to the third-party payroll company involved on a monthly basis
In addition, you would also be:
- required to assist the Accounting/Management department in regards to specific vendor/account related requests. Ex: areas such as Account software development
- asked to contribute to some other miscellaneous tasks and provide input on high priority/special projects
- attending different boat shows depending on the region/calendar
- To travel to overseas destinations as required
DESIRED PROFILE:
For this management level position:
- You ideally have 5-6 years of experience in a similar role (Accounting & Reporting)
- You have a significant background in the Yachting industry, dealing with expenses and accounts of boats such as Purser OR a Chief Stewardess Purser OR
- You have a previous experience as a Yacht Accounting Manager
- You have a strong numerical/analytical sense and complex accounting principles
- You are tech-savvy and efficient with different computer ecosystems (ideally Windows & Mac)
- You are proficiency in Microsoft Excel(non-negotiable), Outlook and FileMaker
- You have a working knowledge & hands-on experience on QuickBooks accounting software
- You are able to effectively & professionally communicate with the different stakeholders - owners, boat captains, yacht management, etc.
- You must be fluent in English and have a strong level in French
- An additional language is a plus
- You are able to multi-task with ease and prioritize your responsibilities efficiently
- You have an excellent eye for detail and don’t let any crucial details slip without your attention
- You have a full international driver’s license
- You have a clean criminal record

- You have very strong sense of human relationship and therefore, you have possess extremely good managerial interpersonal skills to be able to cross manage several indidvuals evovling in different third parties such as suppliers, crews, owners and your own team
- You are perfectly autonomous but you also know to adapt and work within a team
- You have excellent communications skills and you stimulate your team in a posivite and active way
- You have a strong appetence for technology and computers, you can use a Mac and its tools, you are also a tech-savy.

Work Experience Requirements:
All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht.
Language Requirements:
Good knowledge of the following languages is required: English, French
Certificates and Qualifications:
A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
