The Role
The role of Assistant Purser to provide outstanding customer service in the areas of food and beverage; responsible for maintaining the highest standard through our ships accommodation, whilst providing support to the Hospitality team.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist supervising Chefs; Senior Cruise Attendants; Cruise Attendants.
- Provide support in training of new crew in line with Manuals and Standards.
- Ensuring in the absence of the Purser that all of the duties performed by hospitality care are performing to the standards required.
- To lead by example showing an understanding of duties, policies and procedures.
- Planning, assigning, supervising and directing work.
- Addressing complaints and resolving problems with the Purser’s awareness.
- Monitor and encourage the highest standards of behaviour and self-discipline appropriate to company policy and image amongst crew.

Qualifications Required (scope to obtain before joining)
- AMSA Endorsed Certificate of Safety Training (CoST)
- Certificate 2 in hospitality operations preferred
- Crowd & Crisis Management
- AMSA Medical
- MSIC Card
- First Aid & CPR
- Responsible Service of Alcohol
- Passport
- Australian Seafarers book or other country equivalent discharge book
